OUR LOVELY LOTUS

Friends, memories, and cheese that tastes like butter...

Last night was a very bittersweet night. Our roommate Lotus just got a job in the city (San Francisco), so all five of us decided to go out to dinner and celebrate. Aside from how excited we were for her, we knew that it was the end of our happy year together as roomies.

We went to a restaurant called Vicoletto in Little Italy, which was a charming spot, but the authenticity of the waiters' Italian accents was a little questionable. Nonetheless, the food was on point, for both our eyes and our bellies. We started off with a plate of Mozzarella Burrata, which means buttered mozzarella. It took four servings of bread to complement that huge piece of cheese, but the carbs were worth every buttery bite.

The lobster ravioli with jumbo prawns that KChoi ordered was delectable, even for a crustacean-hater. It helped that the pasta was perfectly al dente. Heyri's pork tagliatelle was also delicious, minus the spicy pepper she mistakenly bit into, thinking it was a tomato. She created a ruckus at our table by spitting her food into her cloth napkin, and then rolling it up and just leaving it on the table. Sorry! :)

It was a perfect summer night in the city (which translates to about 50º F) and a perfect way to send Lotus off into the working-girl world. Good luck, Lotus! We love you and miss you already.
